Forum: classic_tv Subject: Not that anyone cares, but the oldest surviving British TV newscast is from 24 July 1953. Does anyone here have it?

It is an episode of a programme called "Television Newsreel", which wasn't a newscast is the modern-day sense (I presume it was closer to a cinema newsreel), but which nevertheless presented the news for television audiences.

I had asked the question ("oldest existing edition of Television Newsreel) to someone on YouTube (Simon Vaughan, account aptsarchive), who replied with the info of the date of the oldest surviving edition. He mentioned that only a handful of editions survive complete, though many individual news-stories survive.
